Stories, myths and legends have been an important part of the Khasi and Jaintia culture; some of these stories have been inspired by real world events. In the case of the Jaintia tribe of Meghalaya some of these stories have only been passed down orally and only in the last 50 years can be found in text books and scholarly books. This project takes the textual information regarding the Sutnga Kings of the Jaintia Tribe of present day Meghalaya and presents it in a way that is visually engaging to a broad audience. This project aims to highlight the themes of coexistence of different cultures and matriliny within the Sutnga Kingdom through a visually rich narrative.
