Swarachakra is a free text input application developed by the IDID group at the Industrial Design Centre (IDC) under Prof. Anirudha Joshi and his team, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, for Indic scripts. It is designed to facilitate easy and intuitive typing in various Indian languages using the Devanagari script and other scripts. It is available for Android devices, and currently, keyboards for 12 languages are available. Swarachakra's alphabetical keyboard layout performs better than the Inscript layout. It is designed specifically to handle the complexities of Indian scripts, such as conjuncts and ligatures. By providing a user-friendly interface and innovative layout, Swarachakra helps users overcome the challenges of typing in complex scripts, thereby promoting the use and preservation of Indian languages in the digital age.
