Jewellery, Pottery and Puppet Workshop
The Jewellery, Pottery, and Puppet Workshop held at IDC IIT Bombay in September 2008 was a multidisciplinary initiative aimed at exploring creativity and craftsmanship in traditional and modern design practices. It focused on exploring the creative and cultural aspects of these art forms with the objective to provide hands-on experience in traditional and contemporary practices of jewellery-making, pottery, and puppetry. Participants explored the creative process of crafting unique jewelry, functional pottery, and expressive puppets, guided by experts in each domain. The jewellery segment focused on techniques like wire wrapping and clay moulding, while the pottery sessions covered wheel-based and hand-building methods, emphasising aesthetics and functionality. The puppetry workshop combined art and storytelling, with participants designing and animating puppets using materials like wood, cloth, and papier-mache. The workshop concluded with an exhibition showcasing the participants' creations, highlighting the cultural and artistic significance of these crafts in contemporary contexts.
