Asian Design Education Conference
The "Workshop on Design Education in India" was held on January 6-7, 2022, followed by the "Asian Design Education Conference" on January 8, 2022. These events were jointly organised by the Centre for Asian and Asian Diasporic Design (CAAD) and the School of Art, Design, and Media (ADM) at NTU Singapore, along with the IDC School of Design at IIT Bombay, India. The workshop and conference aimed to address the evolving landscape of design education in India and Asia, fostering dialogue among educators, researchers, and practitioners. Discussions centred on innovative teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and the integration of cultural and regional perspectives into design education. International Call: D'source DIC-BHU SDGs Design Challenge B
The "International Call: D'source DIC-BHU SDGs Design Challenge B" most likely relates to a collaborative design challenge with an emphasis on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that is coordinated by D'source, the Design Innovation Centre (DIC) of Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Typoday 2019
Typography Day was organized for the twelth time from 2nd to 4th March 2019, at IDC School of Design (IDC), Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), Mumbai, with support from India Design Association (InDeAs), Design in India and Aksharaya.The event this year was particularly significant as it was being held to coincide with IITB’s Diamond Jubilee (60th year) celebrations as well as IDC’s Golden Jubilee (50th) year celebrations. This year's theme was "Experimental Typography."The event began by featured a day of workshops on typography and calligraphy, followed by an international conference themed on ‘Experimental Typography’, and dedicated to addressing issues faced by type designers, type users, and type educators. The conference included keynote deliveries from international grandmasters, as well as academic presentations that have been selected through a blind jury process. The event attracts industry professionals, academics, research scholars, as well as a large turnout of students. The event included an exhibition of posters that have been selected from an international competition with participation from upwards of fifty countries. There are typographic works of students and faculty members from Design Institutes from around the country.

Typoday 2022
Typography Day 2022, the 15th edition of the annual international conference on typography, was hosted online by the IDC School of Design at IIT Bombay on November 18–19, 2022. The event, which had as its central focus "Typography for Children," brought together researchers, educators, and designers to examine the function of letterforms in early communication and learning. The conference included workshops, panel discussions, and paper presentations on subjects like visual literacy, multilingual typography, and the use of type in entertaining and educational situations. A highlight of the event was the international poster design competition, which drew creative entries from across the globe, all centred around expressive, child-friendly typographic design. In order to celebrate and advance the ability of typography to influence young minds, the organising team, under the direction of Prof. Ravi Poovaiah and with assistance from professors from IDC IIT Bombay and other design institutes, created a rich and inclusive event.

Typoday 2020
The Typography Day was organised for the thirteenth time on February 28th, 29th, and March 1st, 2020 at The Faculty of Arts and Design, The Applied Sciences University, Amman, Jordan, with support from The Lebanese University, IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay, India Design Association (InDeAs), and Aksharaya. The event's theme this year was "Typographic Dialogues: Local-Global."The event featured a day of workshops on typography and calligraphy followed by two days of conferences dedicated to 'Typographic Dialogues: Local-Global'. The international conference was devoted to addressing issues faced by type designers, type users, and type educators. The conference included presentations by invited keynote speakers, eminent academicians, blind juried papers, industry professionals, research scholars, and students. The event also hosted an exhibition of selected posters and typographic works by students and faculty members from Design Institutes.

Designing for Children Papers 2021
The international conference ‘Designing for Children 2021’ with a focus on ‘Play and Learn’ was held online from January 28–30, 2021, hosted by the IDC School of Design at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, Mumbai, with support from the India Design Association (InDeAs) and DesignIndia. This event was dedicated to discussions on design issues related to children, highlighting the design of objects, media, and environments that facilitate 'play and learn' experiences. Aimed at students, educationists, practicing designers, and child-focused interest groups, the conference was designed to be lively, interactive, and thought-provoking. It offered an excellent opportunity for participants to engage with thought leaders and gain insights from researchers' visions, fostering a rich exchange of ideas on enhancing children's developmental experiences through thoughtful design.

The Typography Day was organised for the fourteenth time on August 27th, 28th, and 1st, 2020 at IDC School of Design (IDC), Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) with support from the India Design Association (InDeAs) and Aksharaya. The theme for this year's event was "Hope and Typography." The event featured a day of workshops on typography and calligraphy, followed by two days of conferences dedicated to 'Hope and Typography'. The international conferences were devoted to addressing issues faced by type designers, type users, and type educators. The conference included presentations by invited keynote speakers, eminent academicians, blind juried papers, industry professionals, research scholars, and students. The event also hosted an exhibition of selected posters from the Poster Design Competition.

Design Thinking and Innovation
The IDC School of Design is organising a one-day event on Design Thinking and Innovation (DT&I) on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the VMCC Auditorium, IIT Bombay. This event aims to highlight the core principles and methodologies of the DT&I process, emphasising its effectiveness in problem identification and the development of innovative solutions. The programme includes a day-long seminar where faculty heads will present various DT&I project initiatives and design tools, demonstrating their practical applications and outcomes. Additionally, there will be an exhibition showcasing a diverse array of DT&I projects, providing attendees with insights into the innovative work being conducted within the field. The event is designed to engage participants in a comprehensive exploration of DT&I, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of its impact.

Design Education 2019
Design Education 2019 was conducted on March 15, 2019 at VMCC, IIT Bombay. Design education in its modern form was kindled in India with the establishment of NID in 1963. The Industrial Design Centre was set up in 1969 by the Government of India under the auspices of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Prof. V. N. Adarkar was the adviser for the first five years. Prof. Sudhakar Nadkarni took up the headship and was responsible for setting up the IDC. It began with an academic programme in industrial design. Aims and objectives put forth by the committee for the formation of the centre were: "The aim of the Industrial Design Centre is to prepare students to enter into new creative activities as professional industrial designers who, with experience and maturity, can reach the highest level of design practice, research, and development necessary for the industry.
