These pictures have been clicked at the Orissa Bhawan , Mumbai on the occasion of Karthik Purnima festival. The art work is done with rice floor and water. Mostly fingers are used to apply the mix on the floor but in recent days people have also started using brush as the tool. The chit art draws similarity from the Alpana art form of Paschim Bengal. Mostly Chitta is drawn on the floor near the pathways and doors to signify prosperity and festivity.
