While my profession as an applied artist involves creating work for clients, I also have a personal artistic journey expressed through outdoor drawings. These drawings represent my connection with nature. Being outdoors allows me to feel a deep closeness to the natural world. I capture these moments through quick sketches, immersing myself in the experience. Inspired by John Constable's use of watercolours in the field, later translated these drawings into larger works. Similar to him, I draw from memory, channelling the emotions and sensations of the moment into the final-coloured piece.
My digital colouring process, heavily influenced by the wash techniques of Abanindranath Tagore and Nandlal Bose, allows me to relive the experience. When I look at the finished artwork, I'm transported back to the place where it was created. This artistic practice is my personal medicine, a source of deep connection and longevity.
