Havelock island is a one of the island of Andaman islands. It is situated 57 kilometers north east of Port blair, capital of Andaman islands. Havelock island got its name from a British general Henry Havelock when Britishers were ruling India.
Immigrants of Bangladesh and Mynamar mostly inhabit Havelock. Most of the Bangladeshi came to this island during the partition of India, 1947.
Havelock Island is a very popular tourism destination amongst all the islands of Andaman. The main attractions are the beaches and water sports. The island have total number of seven beaches. 'Radhanagar Beach' is most popular and it amongst the best beaches in Asia (Time magazine, 2004).
