Paithani – A type/ kind of ‘Sari’ which is named after ‘Paithan’ town in Aurangabad city, Maharashtra State. Paithani is a sari made of Silk and Zari. It’s been over 2000 years, this tradition of Paithani sari and its unique art is still continued. The important feature is its unique weaving technique and fact that the entire process, from dyeing of the yarn to weaving, is done by hand. Manufacturing process includes - Dyeing, Setting of the Loom & Weaving. Paithani can be classified by three criteria: motifs, weaving, and colors. The Raw Silk bundles are washed, dyed, and then transferred to the reels to separate each thread before loading to the loom. Setting up the loom is a meticulous job of careful handling. Once the loom is set, process of weaving each thread begins and final product of beautiful Paithani sari is produced.
