In Kuthampully, the Thrissur district of Kerala is specially known for the typically woven Kerala saree, Set mundu, Neriyath, Men’s mundu with different varieties woven specially on the Handloom.
There are different varieties like the tissue kasavu (woven alternately with the cotton yarn and the zari threads) they are generally stiff. Cotton in middle portion and zari on the edges woven as saree or neriyath. The length of the Kerala saree is generally of 6.25 meter with blouse piece and 5.5 meter without blouse piece.
The Handloom saree of minimum cost begins with the range of about INR 1000- 1500 and can also go more than INR 20,000 based on the design and the zari threads. In Power loom woven sari with print begins with the cost of about INR 450 and goes higher as per the design and the work done on them.
