Typography Day as an event was organized for the twelfth time from 2nd to 4th March 2019 hosted by Industrial Design Centre (IDC), Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) with support from India Design Association (InDeAs) and Aksharaya.

The event that year was particularly significant as it was being held to coincide with IITB’s Diamond Jubilee (60th year) celebrations. As well as IDC’s Golden Jubilee (50th) year celebrations.

Poster design competition was held on a theme ‘The Dance of Typography’. The winning entries were published and displayed in an exhibition during the event. The task was to design a poster To Express Beauty, Form and Function in Typography. This competition was open to students, faculty and professionals. The competition was open to all - nonresident Indians, as well as foreign citizens could take part in it.
