The Astronomical Society of India (ASI), established in 1972, is an association of professional astronomers in India. The ASI and its Public Outreach and Education Committee (POEC) wish to create open-source multilingual resources that serve as a bridge between researchers and the general public. We were asked to create astronomy-themed illustrated books for high school students from a wide range of topics in astronomy. The books would be made available in various Indian languages to reach the desired audience all over India. I have chosen the topic ‘Life of galaxies’ for this project. The final outcome is a graphic novel based on a fictional story that explains the characteristics and life cycle of galaxies.
