Tooth extraction is a process of removal of the tooth from the socket of alveolar bone. Extraction is needed in any condition like extreme tooth decay, tooth infection, periodontal diseases, etc.
Conventional tooth extraction process involves wedging with forceps and elevator which expands alveolar bone cavity creating trauma to the patient and also has high chance of buckle lingual bone fracture. As implants are becoming common, extraction has become a critical job, as alveolar bone loss or fracture leads to delaying the implant placement because fracture has to be recovered prior to implant procedure.
This project is focuses on creating the device which will help to reduce efforts required by providing the mechanical leverage advantage where the device is takes support from an adjacent tooth and also provides assistive griping. Also to reduce the trauma for patients by reducing the time required for extraction and by reducing the need for bone expansion for tooth extraction.
