North Lakhimpur is a small town in Assam situated on the northern banks of the river Brahmaputra. Where Mr. Uddhab Bharali - a grass root innovator, a scientist and a social entrepreneur, lives.

Uddhab Bharali’s journey as an innovator started way back in 1988. During these times, tea estates surrounding his hometown were buying company-made polythene film making units that cost about Rs 4 lakh each. These small-time tea estates owners could ill afford to buy such expensive machines. To Udhab Bharali this proved an opportunity. He developed a polythene film-making unit at a heavily subsidized rate of Rs Six seven thousand. The unit was an instant success and there was no looking back after that, and he went on to design and innovate a number of products, all inspired form an understanding of basic needs of entrepreneurs amongst the his immediate community.
