Innoduction

  • Printer-friendly version

Innoduction reasons from general to general, from a class of probable proposed situations to a larger class of possible realizations. For example, universal properties (e.g. the physical laws of levers) can be used to create a new device that can be expected to perform in ways that can be anticipated. In particular, designers need to understand which product property/feature is beneficial for users before incorporation of this feature into product and innoduction reasoning is helping in this context.
