Agriculture is demographically the broadest economic sector in India It comprises of marginal, small, semi-medium, medium and large farmers Small and semi-medium scale farmers own about 3 to 7 acres of land in which they try to grow a variety of crops throughout the season To protect those crops from different pests, insects, fungus etc farmers use the manual or battery operated knapsack pesticide sprayer as their primary device The current sprayer has many limitations such as back shoulder pain after prolonged use, less liquid carrying capacity, inconsistent spraying, battery drain in off-season etc Also due to the frequent power cut issues in villages farmers also face charging issue and labor waiting period which decreases the efficiency of the spraying process.
In this project, I have designed a solar-powered pesticide sprayer for small and semi-medium farmers that is more comfortable and efficient to use than the existing knapsack sprayer. The proposed ergonomic design of the pesticide sprayer allows its user to carry more liquid through large farms with much comfort without being dependent on any external power source.
