Around 7.5 million people travel by the Mumbai suburban railway daily. The present signage system at the stations lacks consistency and is unable to provide easy to understand information to the users. The lack of a proper signage system on railway stations makes it difficult for commuters to navigate with ease. Due to the crowd and complex nature of railway junction stations, many travellers (especially novices) often experience anxiety and discomfort while moving around the station.
This project is about designing a better signage system for Dadar junction station so as to make information easily available, thus reducing confusion and facilitating faster movement of the crowd. The aim of the project is to improve passenger experience at the Mumbai suburban railway stations and increase the reliability of the way-finding system.
