The Book - Faith Enduring:
The book has been written from the narrator’s point of view capturing the respective stories of the people with whom the narrator has had conversations and interactions during the process of project. These stories are being portrayed through the photographs in the book. The book is entirely a compilation of photographs that visually narrate the stories of faith of these people and their communities.

About Book:
A Photographic Exploration:
Devotees and the pledges made during one of the most extravagant functions of Tamil Nadu. A function held for the Goddess Amman. It witnesses more than two to three lakh people every year. Held at temples across the state, the worship pattern is distinct and captivating. 

The book is an attempt to understand their thinking pattern and a look at their lifestyles. The photographs capture moments from the worship pattern of these strong willed devotees. 

Design Characteristics of the Book:
• Book dimension: 11 inches/11 inches. 
• The photographs are flush cut to either the top, left or right of the pages. 
• The functions of the day are categorized based on the pledge undertaken by one devotee    each. 
• The font that has been used is Caslon.

Design Challenges: 
The aim of the book was not merely to show the reflection of a festival, but the photographs are meant to portray the mood of the devotees and the pledge makers. 

Some of the challenges faced were: 
• Time constraint 
• One of the aspects to be kept in mind is the state of the devotees during the pledge making    ceremony. 
• Difficulty of conversation. 
• Need for later meetings with the devotees. 
• Initial apprehension & reluctance. 

A journey that still continues…
People pay tribute to the Goddess every year and they will continue to do so. A conviction that has been passed on and is ENDURING...
