Printed Rainbow is a 2006 Indian animated short film directed, animated, and produced by Gitanjali Rao. It was first screened at the International Critic's Week 2006 film festival held in Cannes, France. The film-printed Rainbow describes the loneliness of an old woman and her cat, who escape into the fantastical world of matchbox covers. A story told without words, Gitanjali painted the entire film, frame by frame, over three years as a labour of love dedicated to her mother and cat.
