Aarogya Setu is an Indian COVID-19 "contact tracing, syndromic mapping and self-assessment" digital service, primarily a mobile app, developed by the National Informatics Centre under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). It is largely a smartphone app. Launched in April 2020, the app was a crucial tool in the country’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, serving multiple roles from contact tracing to providing updated health information, self-assessment, hotspot alerts, and integration with health services, the app has significantly contributed to managing and mitigating the impact of the virus. This app's declared goals are to connect Indians with vital Covid-19-related health services and to raise awareness of the virus.This app promotes best practices and advice in addition to supporting the Department of Health's efforts to contain COVID-19. This tracking app tracks COVID-19 cases by utilising the GPS and Bluetooth capabilities of the smartphone. The app is available for Android and iOS mobile operating systems.
