Professor C. Joshua Abend was an American visiting faculty member. Product innovation was his area of expertise. He delivered a unique lecture on "Innovation Management" at IDC and advised faculty members on how to define goals, identify areas of need, and plan for significant UNDP initiatives. Aside from that, he led a seminar on "Greater Organisational Success Through Innovation Management" for important industrial management challenges and led an idea-generation workshop at IIT to practice creative problem-solving in groups and on an individual basis. Additionally, he planned a three-day workshop called "New Approaches to Product Innovation" for managers of research and development (R&D), product designers, and design engineers. Representatives from reputable Indian industries were present.
