Manfred Hermann, a renowned furniture designer from Ulm, FRG, visited IDC IIT Bombay in 1983. During his visit, he guided a one-month project for a junior batch of IDC students, concentrating on the design and development of school chairs. His expertise in furniture design, particularly from the prestigious design culture of Ulm, provided students with valuable insights into functional and ergonomic design principles. This project was an important learning experience for the students, combining practical design skills with the theoretical knowledge imparted by a distinguished designer.
