Forklift manufacturers believe that the overall economy of the forklift does not depend only on the product alone but also on the operative efficiency of the operator and the efficient use of energy. Improving the operator's environment and relationship with the machine would help to improve his efficiency. An interface is the part of a product or a system that communicates with the operator. It has become important to design suitable and functional user interfaces to remove the cognitive load of the vehicle from the operator and concentrate on the work at hand. The posture, feel, and aesthetics involved in his operating cabin should give him a sense of comfort and safety not provided by the forklift. To design a functioning user interface one has to know the users physical and psychic requirements and also understand how the human operates in his environment The project deals with the redesign of operator controls and their layout for a faster and more effective response. By solving problems related to the visibility of the operator, feedback has improved. Considerations were also given to the overall usability, comfort, and safety of the operator.
