Over the course of this project, the design brief evolved through multiple iterations, reflecting a growing understanding of user needs and design priorities. Initially, the focus was on creating a solution that catered equally to both children and the elderly. However, as the research progressed, it became evident that each group had distinct and complex requirements, making it necessary to clearly define primary and secondary users. This shift in approach led to a more focused and practical design direction, where the primary emphasis was placed on developing classroom furniture tailored to children’s needs, while ensuring that the design could be adaptable and accessible for elderly users as well. This refined perspective helped in achieving a balanced, inclusive, and user-centred design outcome.
