Detailed Description

The “Adaptable Recliner Bed” project, developed in collaboration with Recliners India under the guidance of Prof. B. K. Chakravarthy, focuses on designing an ergonomic, smart, and versatile bed that enhances both sleep and productivity. Aimed at meeting diverse user needs, the bed integrates adjustable firmness, temperature, and posture settings through manual or automated controls, promoting comfort and health. Emphasising a DIY and user-centric approach, the design encourages personalisation and ownership. Extensive research—through market studies, interviews, and user testing—revealed a growing demand for adaptable, health-orientated furniture. The final design combines advanced ergonomics, sleek aesthetics, and smart technology, resulting in a modern product that fits various interiors. This project showcases how interdisciplinary collaboration and user-focused innovation can redefine everyday comfort and set new benchmarks in smart, ergonomic furniture design.
