Detailed Description

The project “Enhanced Mobile Phone Accessibility for Tremor-Related Conditions” focuses on designing a specialised stylus to assist individuals with neurological disorders such as ataxia and Parkinson’s disease, who experience tremors that hinder effective mobile phone use. Recognising the vital role of mobile devices in daily life, the project aims to enhance digital accessibility and independence for this demographic. Through collaboration with neurologists and patient advocacy groups, the design integrates scientific principles to counteract involuntary movements, ensuring ease of use and comfort. By addressing the specific challenges faced by users with tremors, the project seeks to improve their interaction with touchscreens, promoting greater autonomy, inclusivity, and quality of life through thoughtful, user-centred design.
