Designing for Children 2009, held at IDC IIT Bombay on 6th–7th February 2009, served as a national platform to initiate discussions on integrating design and innovation into school curriculums. The conference aimed to highlight the importance of nurturing creativity and problem-solving skills in children from an early age through design-focused education. It brought together educators, policymakers, designers, and researchers to explore how design can be embedded into school systems to foster innovative thinking. Through keynote addresses, workshops, and panel discussions, the event sought to develop actionable strategies for incorporating design as a core element of the learning process, shaping future generations to think creatively and collaboratively.
