Detailed Description

The GIAN Course on Specialty Glazes and Colour Development Course was conducted by Greg Daly and Sandeep Manchekar from January 30, 2018 to Monday, February 5, 2018 at IDC, IIT Bombay. The GIAN (Global Initiative of Academic Networks) Course is supported by the MHRD, Government of India. In this session, students got to learn about the structure of glaze and the development of colour in a variety of glaze types and finishes. The development of the glaze and colour will be through various testing methodologies, for example line blend, tri-axial blend, square blend, and colour blends. The testing & development programme will lead to the student developing their own palette of glazes. Occupational health and safety instruction was an integral part of this course. This course was organised into two modules. Module A: Glaze Theory and Colour Development: January 30-February 3, 2018 Module B: Lustre Glazes: 4 February–5 February, 2018. The first module of two days on Lustre Glazes was conducted by Greg Daly, and the second module of two days on Lustre Glazes was conducted by Sandeep Manchekar.
