Detailed Description

Ceiling Fan Packaging: During the oil crisis, there was a great demand for ceiling fans from USA, Australia and arab countries. In the domestic markets, the major parts of the ceiling fan were packed individually. In India, the customer carries them. This particular statutory requirement offered an opportunity for redesign of the packaging. The individual packings could be dispenced with. The weight and diamentions of individual packs to be handled manually by each operator at the airports/sea ports. Moulded expanded polystyrene pack when used in pair contains major parts for four fans: motors, regulators and suspension rod assembly. The motors are nested in one of the moulded packs- two upright and two upside down- to reduce the frieght volume. Two regulators are accomodated in one unit within the space and the other two regulators are accomodated in one unit within the space and the other two regulators are included in the other unit. the design resulted in considerable reduction in the frieght volume and this made the product very competitive inspite of having a larger diameter motor.
