The symbols for Hospitals, Railway/Bus stations and Public building environments were designed at IIT Bombay. The project involved extensive field work and feedback studies with the users. The designs were evaluated and modified during each stage of the design process. Here are documented the finalised designs.
These symbols are in use in hospitals (KEM for example in Mumbai)and other facilities in many places around the world. The design process and the final designs have been published in journals and other design related magazines.
You are welcome to make use of these designs free of charge. To make it convenient for reproduction and printing, the symbols are available for downloading in eps file format.

Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) is a standard file format used for importing and exporting PostScript files.
This versatile file format can be opened using any of these popular drawing or graphic packages - Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Macromind Freehand, and Corel Draw.
