Dholak is a well-known folk instrument of India which becomes part of all the celebrations that take place in northern states. The music energizes one to dance and enjoy the occasion to the best. The instrument is played slung across shoulder or played placing it on the ground. The two side headed drum produces great music and comes in various sizes depending on whether it is used by the children or elder ones, a starter or an experienced player. It is played when it is struck by hands on both sides. The cost price of a Dholak starts from INR 900 and goes on depending on the quality of the wood, tuning and accessories that goes into the making of a Dholak.
