The colours used in the Ganjappa paintings are natural, earthen and extremely vibrant. Some are procured from the nearby markets and some are made at home. Red is the most expensive of them all - costs approximately fifteen thousand rupees per kilogram - and black is the cheapest because it is made at home with Kajal (soot).
