Dividing the festivals based on the two harvest seasons in India is a strategic approach to showcase the cultural diversity and agricultural practices of the country By aligning festivals with specific harvest periods I can highlight the seasonal rhythms and regional variations in celebration.
• Rabi Crop Harvest Festivals:
Celebrated during the winter season, typically from ctober to March these festivals mark the harvesting of Rabi crops.
• Kharif Crop Harvest Festivals:
Celebrated during the monsoon season, typically from June to September these festivals mark the harvesting of Kharif crops.
Also the selection of festivals for this project was carefully curated taking into account the diverse array of rituals stories and cultural practices associated with each celebration. The aim was to showcase the rich tapestry of Indian cultural heritage by encompassing festivals that represent a wide spectrum of traditions, beliefs and customs.
