LeTS (The Learn Through Stories) is a Foundation that enables students to learn through content produced by themselves. It’s a not-for-profit educational venture.
The objective of the Research Project is to facilitate English language learning in resource constrained environments. Students from remote rural areas were taught by the stories and illustrations created by themselves. In this way they became content creators rather than mere consumers which also enabled learning outside of a structured English language classroom. In 2014, Prof. Alka Hingorani with her team conducted this research work to encourage students to learn English language using digital applications.to encourage the active listening and reading aloud the digital application which implement same-language subtitle, voice overs and voice recordings software.
Further In 2021, Gayathri Thakoor and Prof. Arti Kalro, became instrumental in starting the Learn Through Stories Foundation (a not-for-profit endeavour) to take the project out of its research confines and into the wider world. LeTS gives training to students and teachers through conducting content creating workshops. Apart from content they teach book design and production. They accumulate stories created by students and design books based on them. The published are then return to students and teachers.
