Pottery products made in Kangra is as similar to other clay crafts made by other potters in India. The only difference is style and the personal touch of the craftsmen. Products like water pots or cooking articles are used for daily purpose, where as other articles like designer vase and other decorative items are produced occasionally. The sales for these products are more in festive seasons like Ganesh Chaturthi and Diwali. Clay products which are more in demand are- Water pots known as Gharra used to store water, Muggi for carrying water, Gharau for boiling milk and decorative products like diyas, vintage pots, mini containers and Gulak (Penny bank). The products are marketed in Kangra, Palampur, Dharamsala, and Meleodganj. Cost of each piece starts from Rs 20/- and goes till thousands depending on the design and size of the article.
