Typical dwelling types from Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, and Kutch in Gujarat are exhibited under the desert village display. The stone architecture of Rajasthan, with huge size stones and chhatris, depicting the elements of pride and honor in Rajput architecture, has been exhibited in similar way. The bhungas (circular huts) with its marvelous clay and mirror work demonstrate the ecological, social and the aesthetic aspects of the nomadic Rabari people of Kutch, Gujarat. Thus desert village exhibit features the process, and the extent of their adaptation to the environment. The entire village has been displayed with various ethnographic objects that reflect the life style and the actuality of the dwelling populations.
