Varanasi wooden toys are hand carved toys and they can be classified into two-dimensional and three-dimensional toys. These toys are usually made by using themes. There are cultural based toys which narrates the daily lifestyle of the people like bullock cart, camel cart, horse cart, farming, fishing, train, car, band of soldiers playing musical instruments, and etc. Some are tradition-based toys that exhibit the idols of Lord Ganesha, Goddess Durga, Ravan, Lord Hanuman and etc. Few of them are religious that narrates the stories based on mythology. Some are modern toys that are made using modern patterns and themes like kitchen set, dining set, cricket set and etc according to the changing taste of the people. These toys are not only limited to Hindu tradition and culture but it has also widely welcomed all the other religion’s culture and traditions. Infact there are some toys of animals and birds like peacock, ferocious tigers attacking the elephant and rider, cow with calf, fishes and etc. These toys are available in all sizes and price ranges according to the size, color and the theme of the wooden toys.
