'Swadeshi' is a name that establishes a very rustic, homemade and handmade feel, which the furniture aims to express. The body is made from teak wood with a conjoined bent ply seat and back rest fastened to it. This also makes it easy to separate the seat and backrest from the rest of the structure when a time comes for re-upholstery. All wooden parts are finished with olive oil.
Designed by Yusuf, the first version of the Yoga chair comprising of bent-ply seat and back with bent-ply legs was developed to meet a client’s requirements. The design was completely knockdown and flat packable. The other variation is made with metal legs which is also knock-down and flat packable. The third version is a fixed frame version and uses teak wood legs and bent ply seat and back. One can select finishes of one’s choice in this piece of furniture.
Dhai in Hindi implies two and a half and this seat was custom designed to fit in a couple with their yet to be born baby. It had natural cane weaving as its seat base and the rest of the structure is made of teak wood, finished by hand rubbing olive oil.
Chipokke in Hindi means to cuddle up and this was designed to comfortably accommodate a couple while they get ready to watch their favorite TV shows. Main body structure is made from teak, hand rubbed with olive oil, and the seat uses bent-ply wood, with melamine water proofing coat finish.
