The design approach required a focus to deliver a product which has differentiated features with premium looks. Top tray was one such element which dominates major visual proportion.
The newer design hence formed ensured a distinct form of the tray to stand apart from its competition. A well laid out user interface was also provided to make it operator friendly. To ensure “mass customization”, a commonality of components across product range provided a viable proposition of low component cost and ease of assembly. Fiber glass was used considering low production volumes and at the same time to achieve smoother and softer forms.
The target segment so defined was a middle aged evolved consumer who is well informed of the premium product segment. The style attributes defined was inclined to bring in sophistication with contemporary cues to define product positioning. Elements of engagement were added at strategic touch points to pronounce attitude and product superiority. The brand philosophy always focused on getting parents and children together. Continuing with the same spirit, as an ongoing marketing need, Ferrero wanted to bring in new device for Kinder Joy which is more engaging and exciting.
The concepts were based on ensuring a quick turnaround in their manufacturing / execution process, as well as their easy adaptation across all the retails formats and also as a standalone unit. Ease of assembly for display and dispensing was ensured through use of minimal components.
Needs trigger opportunities and leads to product innovations. Work Culture wanted to create engagement kiosk where corporate consumers can walk in and engage with the services offered and while doing so contribute towards collecting resourceful data to improve quality of life.
An enclosure was styled to look inviting and distinctly noticeable. Apart from offering primary services the UI screen also gathered a lot of useful data. Various technologies like remote diagnostics, data uploading and analysis were integrated to facilitate remote operational feasibility.
Eagle as a brand is synonymous with thermo‐ware flask, and over generations has been built on customer loyalty and quality. In collaboration with the Eagles technical team, Core Design developed an insulated casserole which can either be used on flame or on an induction heater. Other utilitarian features like click type side handles, smooth surfaces and recessed base fulfilled both the aesthetic and the functional requirement of the consumers.
Field research and focus group discussions resulted in defining user centric parameters. The design process (U‐S‐E‐R) gave practical insights into understanding the target group’s socio‐psychological factors that played a critical role in establishing connect with the kiosk and at the same time understanding the consumer and the retailer barriers.
In addition to the design of the enclosure, Core Design coordinated for integrating various technologies to arrive at the final workable platform. Manufacturing processes were selected based on ease of integration and low volume of production.
