Detailed Description

This special product design project by Ajay Desai (Batch 2002–2004, IDC IIT Bombay), supervised by Prof. B.K. Chakravarthy, explores the interplay between style, trends, and visual perception in the context of small automobile design. The study treats “style” not merely as a technical specification but as an expressive, almost artistic medium—something that can’t be fully quantified but needs to be sensed, timed, and communicated. It also examines how fashion, aesthetics, material innovation, and the tempo of life drive desirability and exclusivity in automotive styling and how such factors influence consumer perception at first glance.
