According to the new rules, the participants shall not be permitted to stand in front of the bull’s path as they enter the frontline. They shall also not be permitted to block the bull’s exit path once they cross the arena. The participants shall be permitted only to embrace the bulls by hanging to their hump and run along for 15 m by distance or 30 sec by time or else sustain three jumps of the ferocious bull. Once the bull reaches its run area, the participants will not be allowed to touch the bulls any longer. The participants shall not be allowed to hold on to the tail, horns or even restrict the bull’s movement by holding on to the bulls’ legs. Participants violating these guidelines shall be liable to be debarred from the sport for a lifetime. For participation in the event, the likely applicant has to abide by formalities like submission of a form with rules and regulations, individual photos, and medical checkup is being done to all the participants. The organizations are liable to take full responsibility for the whole event; hence they shall take prior permission for the persons as well as their bulls participating in the Jallikattu event from the Collector of the respective district. With the assistance of experts of the Animal Husbandry Department, the Collector ensures that the bulls are free from any diseases and not intoxicated with any substance or object that makes bulls violent or ferocious. Some injuries have also happened during Jallikattu but the Medical Crew has given proper medical aids.
