Detailed Description

This animation project draws inspiration from Assamese folklore, particularly the legend of the Baak, a ghost known for stealing fish and assuming human form. Reimagining the Baak as the central character, the project blends traditional folklore with contemporary themes, including the social impact of communal conflict in Assam. The research includes the study of Assamese folktales, ghost stories, cultural beliefs, published references, and interviews with local elders to understand the origins and interpretations of the Baak. By combining folklore, cultural heritage, and modern storytelling, the project explores how traditional narratives can be adapted into an engaging animated film while preserving the essence of Assam's rich oral traditions.
