Introduction

A standing figure of Maitreya is depicted in
gilt bronze. He holds the 'Amritaghata' in his left hand and a rosary in the right, which is in abhqya- mudra. Sash is tied around his thighs and a 'stupa' is depicted against the hair tied high on the head. He is standing on a double lotus pedestal and wears a necklace, armlets, bangle and waistband.
