HTC Vive is a room scale device setup developed by the collaborative efforts of HTC and Valve Corporation. The Vive package consists of a head mounted device with a high resolution stereoscopic display, base stations which incorporate infrared light emissions for precise position tracking and controllers with embedded sensors for physical interactions. The display requires a computer with a powerful Graphical Processing Unit to render the visual representations of the constantly updated virtual world. The device was officially launched by HTC in February 2015.
