This poster was made for the 1971 mystery novel written by Bengali writer and filmmaker Satyajit Ray. In 1974, Ray directed a film adaptation of the book, also named Sonar Kella, starring Soumitra Chatterjee, Santosh Dutta, Siddartha Chatterjee, and Kushal Chakraborty. The Golden Fortress was the name given to the film when it was released there. It is the first movie adaptation of Ray's well-known detective Feluda; Joi Baba Felunath came next.
