This poster was made for the Indian fantasy comedy Parash Pathar, which was released in 1958 in Bengali. This was Satyajit Ray's debut movie that wasn't part of the Apu Trilogy. Additionally, it was his first work as a comedian and as a magical realist. The picture, which was based on a short novel by Parasuram (Rajsekhar Basu) with the same name, provided an early look into Ray's sense of humour and followed a middle-class clerk who unintentionally finds a stone that can change other objects into gold.
