This poster was made for the 1978 Kannada epic movie Ondanondu Kaladalli. It was co-written and directed by Girish Karnad with a soundtrack by Bhaskar Chandavarkar, starring Shankar Nag and Akshatha Rao in their debuts. This film helped launch Kavita Krishnamurthy's career as a playback singer. Early samurai movies by Japanese director Akira Kurosawa, to whom Karnad apparently acknowledged his obligation, are a major influence on the movie.
