This poster was made for the 1975 Malayalam-language film Uttarayanam, written by Thikkodiyan and directed by G. Aravindan. This film exposes opportunism and hypocrisy set against the backdrop of the independence struggle and is inspired by Aravindan’s own cartoon series, titled "Cheriya lokavum Valiya manushyarum." This film was an experimental film, and it has influenced the parallel cinema movement in Kerala to a great extent.
