This poster was made for the Marathi social melodrama film Manoos,directed by V. Shantaram in 1939. A Hindi version of the film, titled Aadmi, was also produced simultaneously. The short story "The Police Constable," on which the movie was based, inspired the plot. The screenplay and dialogue were written by Anant Kanekar, and the story was by A. Bhaskarrao. Kanekar wrote the lyrics, Master Krishna Rao composed the music, and V. Avadhoot was the director of photography.
